xFive Club joins the Game Arena Association

As of today, xFive Club is part of the Game Arena Association (Asociación Game Arena).

We've been doing this since 2015. All this time the club has kept going thanks to the people who play, compete and create content with us, but without a formal structure behind it. That changes now.

What Game Arena is

Game Arena is a non-profit association focused on video games and esports, registered with the Andalusian regional government (Junta de Andalucía). It was founded by three people, with a board made up of a president, a vice president and a secretary.

xFive Club becomes its esports club. The brand, the teams and the community stay the same.

What changes

Day to day, nothing. Same club, same name, same Discord and same TeamSpeak.

What changes is what we can do from now on:

• Sign deals with sponsors and brands as an organisation, not as individuals.
• Work with institutions, such as local councils and gaming venues, to run in-person tournaments and events.
• Apply for grants and calls that are only open to registered organisations.
• Give our teams a stable base to grow from: competition, gear and travel to events.

What's next

This isn't the goal in itself. It comes at the right time for a project we'll announce very soon. More in the coming weeks.

Thanks to everyone who has kept xFive going since 2015. We keep going.
